Clifton is a Village of approximately 1325 residents. It is located along Interstate 57 at exit 297. Chicago’s airports and attractions are just an hour ride away, approximately 75 miles north along I-57.

Clifton provides a quality of life only a small town can provide, but also has the capability for new housing and expansion. Although it is considered a small town Clifton does have the privileges of having a swimming pool, two public parks, and a baseball field provided by the local Lions Club. There are many local businesses including doctors, stores, and other service providers.

A Board of Trustees governs the Village, which consists of eight members, the Mayor, six Trustees and a Village Clerk. The Village also has approximately ten other employees, including the Treasurer, Water Bill Collector, Police Chief, Two Administrative Assistants, and Maintenance workers, which are appointed positions.
