Pool Updates

The Local Improvement Committee met Tuesday night to discuss plans for opening Clifton Centennial Pool.

The actual opening date is anticipated for sometime during the week of June 29th contingent on the maintenance department's schedule and the regulation of chemicals and water temperature. Illinois should be in Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan at that time.

Attendance will be limited to residents of Central Unit School District #4 until the limitation on numbers is lifted.

Two daily sessions from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. will be held.

Only the first fifty entrants will be allowed into the pool. Once the session is full, no other entrants will be allowed until the next session. There will be a $5.00 entrance fee. While there are attendance limits there will not be a membership option since buying a membership can in no way guarantee entrance.

Swimmers will not be required to wear face coverings. However, in order to comply with the governor's executive order, face coverings will be expected when visitors are "unable to maintain a six-foot social distance."

The concession stand will offer pre-packaged or prepared foods with minimal contact from workers.

And, of course, all of these plans are subject to change based on updates from the Illinois

Department of Public Health and/or the Office of the Governor.
